The mauve-colored travel tunic is meticulously designed and crafted in-house, with a subtle, repeating geometric pattern that appears to be a light print on a darker background. It features a fine, handwoven fabric that is uniquely textured, soft, and breathable, made from Natural Dyed cotton and block printed. This travel tunic is specifically designed with a pocket for holding a boarding pass, has three-quarter sleeves and a slightly a-line shape, falling just above the knees. A distinctive aspect of the design is that the block is handcrafted, drawing inspiration from the Islamic architecture found in and around the city of Hyderabad.

Block-Printing
India has a rich history of hand-block-printed, natural-dyed trade textiles since the 18th century & the skill is still widely practiced today. The term “Kalamkari” was originally meant for hand-painted textiles from the region of Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. When the demand for trade textiles grew in the late 17th - 18th century, Persian block-carvers were called by the East India Company to adopt “Kalamkari” motifs into block-printed “Chintz”. At Creative Bee, after years of research & experimentation, we have mastered the printing techniques, recipes of natural dye print pastes, fixing techniques & all other related hand-processes to produce some of the finest hand-printed, natural dyed and hand-woven textiles.
